Early AngelList was a great idea. Founders could find investors, investors could find deals, and the whole thing worked on mutual interest rather than cold outreach. Everyone was on it. Then they raised a lot of capital and it became a fund administration business.That original mission seems to have quietly disappeared. So, we built UnlockedVC.com because nobody had replaced it, at least not for SaaS.
UnlockedVC is a free matchmaking platform connecting SaaS and enterprise software founders with VC and lenders in the space. It’s extremely simple: founders build a profile in about 15 seconds and browse investors filtered by check size, stage, thesis, and SaaS subcategory. Investors do the same in reverse. When both sides express interest in each other, a match is made and contact details are shared. Nobody gets cold-emailed. Nobody gets ghosted by someone who was never genuinely interested. Mutual interest only.
We built this purely for deal flow and for the SaaS community. There is no subscription fee, no success fee, no carry, no upsell. It is free for founders and free for investors, and that will not change. Blossom Street invests exclusively in enterprise software, and we wanted a new way to find great companies. If we end up being the right investor for them, amazing, but we recognize this blows the the spigot open to capital beyond our own. In our view that makes for a healthy market, and a better-connected SaaS ecosystem is good for everyone in it.
